Oh I completely agree! I feel so bad that you (& everyone else) has to go though this but just knowing i'm not alone is so nice! My husband is really understanding too but he doesn't actually know what's going on & how it feels so it's nice to have you girls.

Let us know how your appointment goes with the new OBGYN. Honestly a biopsy not be so bad if it finds out what's really going on so you can put a stop to the non-sense but at the same time if it's pointless that's just more pain for no reason.

Your Mom became allergic to the pill? How did she find out that's what the problem was. Toxic Shock Syndrome just sounds so scary to me! What did she do to make it better?

When they test your urine in a normal urine test they are mainly testing your white & red blood cell count, pH levels, protein levels & a few other that I don't the meaning of. If your white blood cell count is high that means it's fighting off some type bacterial infection. To test for anything else they have to do a urine culture.

What tests have you had done again? Any cultures done?

Depending on the type of insurance you have will determine if they would cover allergy testing. You can always ask where you'd have to go & give them a call & see if they know roughly what it would cost you.

If there is fragrance in the ointment I'd stop using it if I were you. Your skin is so damaged (even if it doesn't look damaged) that any little thing can be irritating. I would look into Aquaphor for an ointment to use. That's what my OBGYN gave me to use. You can also try adding vinegar to your laundry to kill the suds (less fragrance on your clothes.)

Haven't had a biopsy yet....trying to avoid it if I can. Not overly thrilled w my new ob.... she's very black and white about things. Right now I'm being treated As if its a yeast infection and the cream actually does help but its not strong enough to make it completely go away but she refuses to prescribe diflucan for me, saying that if the cream doesn't work completely it must be something else. My argument is that it is helping its just not strong enough. I have an appointment next week on Wednesday with my old OB GYN and hopefully she will let me do Diflucan while using the cream to see if it goes away. Fingers crossed. Although I'm not thrilled that I'm still not completely healed I'm glad the antifungal is doing something. I'll try to update after Wednesday.

Hey Ladies, I just wanted to give you an update. I have been off birth control for about 4 1/2 months & I feel GREAT! I get a slight itch once a week or so or sometimes I feel the pain after going to the bathroom but it never lasts longer than an hour. I slowly got better ever since I stopped the birth control & stopped taking medication/putting cream on the painful area. I think my skin just needed time to heal like my dermatologist said. Also, I have stayed away from dairy because of the hormones that are added to it. So I don't know how you ladies are doing or if one of you ever got a biopsy but I HIGHLY suggest going off birth control. Best of luck! I'm here to talk if anyone needs it!

My daughter is having the same problem, and think that the sprintec 28 is the problem and never had a problem on tri sprintec before this... the norgestimate is gradual in the trisprintec but in the sprintec 28 its all the same for the 3 weeks at .25mg

I was on Flamina. I don't remember the dosage but it was a lighter dosage. I don't take any birth control right now. I'm too nervous to try anything & I haven't needed it.

"I never use condoms..." You are harming billions of women both by stating this (making women feel it is alright to not wear condoms, increasing the likelihood that women will not insist on condom use, opening the option for men to not use condoms with women who will allow it which leads to irresponsible male sexual behavior that can and does kill women all over the world from HIV/AIDS, and making non-condom use "normative." You are also espousing ignorance by stating you and your partner are "clean" -- this is ridiculous: HIV/AIDS have three to six month Windows so a statement about being "clean" at one point in time (at time of test) has little or no applicability to the continuing relationship and secondly, infidelity and adultery occur very frequently in relationships so boldly declaring and modeling you never use condoms is a tragedy to the woman gender.

I'm a Minastrin user for mostly hormonal reasons having been diagnosed with premenstrual dysphoric disorder. I used mail order pharmacy to fill my 90-day prescription this past summer. The 3 pill packs sat in my mailbox roadside for about 24 hours on one of the hottest days of the year. It did occur to me that the pills might have been affected by the above 77°F recommended storage temp. I still took the pills and used other protection with my boyfriend. I knew after the first month that I had to be careful because I had a period for the first time in a long time which signaled to me that the hormones in the pill weren't having the same effect on me. I finished the next 2 packs and had the same issues with getting a period.

Last month, I picked up my 90-day supply from the pharmacy instead of receiving it in the mail. The month went great and I was back to having no period.

This month I am experiencing something I haven't had in a while: vaginal itching and painful dryness and cracking of the labia, and even itching near my anus. I used a testing kit to rule out a yeast infection. I googled side effects of birth control and after reading a bunch of articles, I am convinced that I have vaginitis as a side effect of the pill. I have experienced this periodically throughout my 5 years of use of Loestrin Fe and then Minastrin. I am also having a flare up of acne around my nose and on my neck, which I've also read is a side effect of birth control pills.

One remedy I have started is using baby wipes, Pampers wipes specifically for sensitive skin, to wipe clean. It really helps. I also noticed that eating too much sugar makes the symptoms worse so I'm cutting out any extra sugary foods. I will spend the $30 to get a ph balancing probiotic for women's health.

I had itching for over a year and was sure it was my birth control. doctors didn't agree with me, but I quit b.c. for 2 months and itching stopped. I have major mood problems, and negative thoughts and depression though when I off my pills, as well as back acne and fatigue. So I felt I had no choice but to go on b.c. again, now the itching is back, but I'm not sure which is worse. I've never taken antidepressants but I'm considering it as an alternative to b.c. I'll also have to load up on Aleve for my killer cramps.

Yes, it does!!!! I was on Sprintec and I had a discharge and itch that wouldn't go away and I wasn't having sex. my doctor prescribed me 4 doses of diflucan and that didn't didn't work. My labs came back normal and my doctor was baffled. One day I forgot to take a pill and decided all together I wouldn't take them period. After 2 weeks my discharge and itch went away. I was off birth control for 3 months.

Fast forward, I meet a nice guy and we date for awhile and I get back on my birth control. After my 6th pill, the discharge was back, my vagina was sore and itchy:/....keep in mind that me and this guy haven't even had sex.

I went to a new doctor who prescribed me a new brand of birth control and I haven't had any issues yet.
