I have been on Lexapro 20mg for about 9 months for anger issues. I have noticed (along with almost everyone else on this drug) that I have gained almost 30 lbs. I am currently weaning myself off of it by decreasing my dosage from 20mg, 15mg, 10mg, 5mg, then off. I am currently on the 5mg dosage which I will be on for about 3 weeks. After I stop the medication will my metabolism return to normal? I know everyone reacts different but I can't get over how voraciuos my appetite has become since I have been taking 20mg of Lexapro. Is there hope? I have bad knees and a bad back from football and the last thing I want is extra weight to lug up and down the stairs.
