Hi, I have been prescribed with salmeterol for asthma, but I experience serious cardiac side effects. I guess I was given the wrong medication?

Hi, it is one of the most threatening mistakes that can be done by doctors, to prescribe an beta- agonist without checking heart state. There are reported cases of cardiac side-effects of salmeterol in asthmatic adults. If you have any heart disorder or consider to have developed an impaired heart activity stop taking this medication. Specially, if there is a family history of the disease, it means you are more susceptible to develop heart disorders and related to this case, cardiac side effects. Your doctor will change your therapy, and perhaps he will diagnose you some heart disorder you haven’t been aware of before.
