I am 49 years old and I have to say that I have neglected my body completely. This means that I have extra weight problem and I cannot even imagine what my lungs look like since I smoke two packs of cigarettes a day. So, I ended up dealing with angina pectoris. I got beta blockers for that but after I have started the therapy I got constipation and it does not leave easily.

I think that problems you also have to deal with are smoking and obesity. It’s not that they induce constipation but they are most likely not helping your beta blocker therapy. As for constipation, it is a possible side effect of beta blockers and I guess that you should consider yourself lucky if that is the only side effect you will be experiencing while under therapy.
