Cortizone shots can this cause vaginal bleeding

I am 36 and have always had regular periods. I had a steroid shot on Sep 23 to the left side of my tailbone for bursitis in my hips because i have scoliosis and harrington rods in my back . Keep in mind I had my tubes tied in 2007 and I have 2 children. I noticed I was 3 days late so I really didn't think nothing of it when I started and it was 5 days instead of 4 like my usual cycle. So after 19 days of stopping I started spotting and had a light flow for 4 days so I was like ok 2 periods in 1 month but I just blew it off till 2 days later I spotted again then 4 days later started spotting again but this time it was blood and it was pinkish brown then blackish brown so then I looked up the symptoms for that and it was talking bout implantation of the embryo and the start of being pregnant, omg I panicked and bought a pregnancy test wondering why this happened with my tubes being tied but the test said negative then a couple days later I started bleeding for 4 days again, this time light and heavy with a little cramping then I was thinking miscarriage but I've had one before and it was definitally more painful and lots of clots so then I decided to make an gyno appt cause I knew something just wasn't right. Also during all this time I've had hot flashes mainly at night, also my nipples were very sore and sensitive for a couple of days, weird food cravings, fatigue insomnia, hair falling out and so on. So I went on the 15th of Nov for my appt, told her what was going on and that I had a steroid shot back in Sep then she goes oh I've heard about bleeding with that but she wasn't sure so she ran some test both blood and vaginal, the vaginal test came back normal and still waiting on the blood work to come back meanwhile I started looking up online about steroid shots and abnormal bleeding and came upon this website and thank god I did, now I know for sure it was that shot and I'm not going nuts thinking all these wild thoughts.I will never get that shot again unless I start getting life threatening pain. It's not worth it to me. I hope I'm done with the side effects cause I sure have been miserable these past coupe months.

Did anyone answer you? I had been thru menopause and three to four years past , got injection now bleefing.

I had a shot it happen to me my stomach pain so bad like it was on fire.And I hav't had a one and two years. But I was told it was a coincidence. It wasn't true the shot cause this.

Me too. Had cortisone injection for tennis elbow and have been bleeding for 2 weeks? Mid cycle also? I've been panicking it's something serious but after scouring the Web I feel a lot calmer. I've also been taking high dose anti infammatories. This could explain a lot!

Hi I was just wondering if there was any way that you had any way to talk to your doctor about getting some pain cream I just got a fluke head to see about other people getting injections and bleeding with her. So funky and I just happen to run across yours I don't know if they will even give you this message and I hope they do for all of you dealing with chronic back pain and pain. There is a compost that you can ask your doctor for it it deals with nerve damage and Joint in all of that so I'm hoping that you get to see this message and if you do please contact me. I haven't had a period in 14 months! I got a cortisone shot and the cramping started! I'm not taking the third one. I didn't know it was one of the side effects! Smh

I realize this is not legal in all states but when I was in Jamaica marijuana actually worked for me in terms of inflammation pain and fibromyalgia.

The same thing is happening to me! Good to know I'm not loading my mind. I'm beyond menopause to and have been bleeding for two weeks, dang it dies it ever stop?

THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME TODAY. I JUST HAD A SHOT IN MY BACK THE DAY BEFOR YESTERDAY.

I JUST HAD MY FIRST SHOT THE DAY BEFORE YESTERDAY AND I STARTED HAVING STOMACH PAIN AND BLEEDING. I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MY BACK.

I had my second steriod injection the day after my cycle ended. Four days later had full blown heavist cycle ever. And it lasted seven days then stopped three went five stopped two and started again. I went to er last week cause cant stop throwing up and nauseous all the time and dizzy....it never dawned on me all this may be cause of my injection. They gave me fluids and antibiotics even though didnt find anytging. Now few days later bleeding again its all dawned on me this may be a complication from my injection. Did yours stop? How long did it take to get back to regular? Ive never been irregular in my life im 32. Worried!!
