I started the depo shot because I was having ovarian cysts and possible endometriosis.  Doctors said they couldn’t diagnose me with endometriosis, because they would have to cut me open and since I have never had any surgeries they didn’t want to do this. However it was suspected.  I was so sick.  Every month for a year, I would vomit for days and sometimes needed hospitalization.  During this time I also had problems with ulcers.  I did some research and found the depo shot could take care of all ovary/endometriosis problems.  I have been on the shot for about 3 yrs now.  I love it! All my ovary problems are gone, except the ulcers (didn’t expect depo to fix that).  When I first started the shot, I got periods and gained major weight.  The periods went away and so did the weight, until several months ago.  I gained over 70lbs!  My doctor has told me my options.  However estrogen makes me vomit and progesterone is the only hormone that helps my problem and progesterone didn’t make me vomit.  I don’t want to get off the shot, but this weight gain is horrible and un-healthy. If I switch to micronor will my period come back (don’t want it to)?  Will I start vomiting again? Will I lose weight or will it stay the same?  Will my endometriosis come back?  Why did I loose the weight and why did I gain it back? I wonder if it is possible the prescription I started a few months ago has something to do with the weight gain.  I have done research on the prescription, but have not been proven that it causes weight gain.
