Heay im 19 years of age i went on the depo provera when i was 16 and it was the biggest mistake of my life. please there must be a way to get the weight off as quick as you gained it. i gained 2 stone in a year and a hal my legs and hips are covered in stretch. the weight is mostly on my arms and stomach. please help me as its makin me very unhappy i was a size six and now im a size ten.... help

Hi I'm kind of in the same situation as you. I've been on depo provera for 2 years and gained 80 pounds super super fast. I am 16 now and it just weared off. I was on it bc birth control wasn't strong enough to stop my periods..my periods would go heavy for 30 days straight. So when the pills stopped working or weren't strong enought the docs put me on depo provera!! Before i was on depo i was 115 pounds a size 2. NOW i am 185 pounds and a size 12. I also hear that depo provera can cause PCOS,( ploycystic ovarian syndrome) and having that can u make you obese!! Going on depo was the worst mistake of my life 2..i cannot believe the doctor put me on that..it ruined my life. I was put on meridia while i was still on depo and it didn't work. I want to try to go on meredia again now that im off depo provera. I read somewhere else that it takes 5 months after you get off depo to actually start losing weight.
