I have been taking Ocella for about a year now. I have been sexually active with my boyfriend for about eight months and have had unprotected sex numerous times. Right after my period I visited him and we had unprotected sex. I had just started taking my birth control that week and I believed I missed one night during that first week. Well ever since my period stopped, I have had discolored discharge. This is the first time this has happened to me while I have been on this birth control. I feel as if I am overreacting because I know there is no way I could be pregnant, however this bothers me. It hasn't only been a few days, but the entire time I have been off my period (which has been two weeks now). Starting today is my final week off my period but I am still nervous. Should I be concerned? Does anyone know what this could possibly mean?

Also I am not sure if this is related to the birth control (Ocella) or not, but I have been having terrible pains in my uterus. These pains come about mainly during intercourse. We can only be in certain positions and such. Even intercourse in the missionary position can be painful. I do not have recall having this problem before. I started taking Ocella a couple months before my last checkup and during my last check up I also received the pain, but my doctor didn't notice anything. Could the pain come from my birth control? Could it damage my uterus? These pains come only during intercourse. Has anyone else had this problem before?

I don't think that it's possible that your birth control can actually cause you pain but it could cause sensitivity which is something you might want to talk to your doctor about as soon as possible so that you can stop suffering from this pain. I think that it's a good idea just to clear up whatever is going on. Please let us know how it turns out.

I took ocella for years and suffered from the same thing, sever pain during intercourse. I have been with my boyfriend for over 5 years and never had a problem with pain until I had been on ocella. It became so bad I was unable to have sex because it was painful to the point of tears. I saw a gynecologist about it and I switched to a low dose birth control using a different hormone and within a week of switching I was pain free again, so for me yes the pain was absolutely due to the ocella.
