I'm 18 years old and have severe glaucoma. I recently started taking the birth control pill, Triquilar. I read somewhere if you have glaucoma you should not take oral contraceptives. Is this true; and if so what are my other options for birth control?

Hello there

I think that there shouldn’t be any side effect but it is always wise to check. If you are old enough to take birth control than you should be responsible enough to read the drugs label.

It is always mentioned in the section side effects that you shouldn’t take this medication (in your case birth control pills) if you suffer from some kind of condition such as glaucoma. If this isn’t written and you still aren’t sure what to do than just go and visit your doctor. He will let you know what the best solution is for you. I hope that you will choose the best option and good luck.
