Ok I have been on doxepin for several years.it helps not only with my insomnia, but also the fact that for my whole life, when I do sleep..I suffer extreme chronic nightmares. I was given doxepin for the insomina/nightmares. Some still get thru, but they don't top what I lived with for 26+ years.
before the doxepin. This post is awfully biased and may cause someone to ignore their doctor. Please refer to it as "doxepin gave ME nightmares" ect ect

Thanks for the information I am having vivid nightmares and couldn’t figure out why until I was researching this medicine some nights I’m afraid to go to sleep because the nightmares are so vivid

Recommending a horribly addictive demonic drug like Alprazolam/Xanax? No thank you. I love doxepin for insomnia. Yes it causes vivid dreams in some (but they're just dreams), but it works. And at least I won't wreck my life with addiction to benzos.

Exactly! Insane recommendations by some who are clueless to addiction.
BTW, doxepin treats nightmares in some. Just because some have bad experiences, doesn't mean everyone else will. Trust your doctor. They know more than you. Anna medicine is an imperfect science so don't always assume malice. These are drugs after all and everyone responds differently.

Doxepin gets rid of nightmares in some. I think they were stating their experience. Don't take side effects as some sort of rule. Everyone is different. Listen to your doctor.

Better late than never. I think you are referring to Propranolol. I use it for panic attacks. I hadn't considered using it for my insomnia.
