I'm 23 and have 10 months of actual time since my diagnosis of Grand Mal, Partial Complex types of epilepsy. I went through the fun of trying different meds and combos of medications. When it got time to try Lamictal, after a week and a half of taking it, I was in the hospital. Problem was that I have got a rash on every inch of my body. I wonder if anyone had experienced something similar or I am special case of it.

You are absolutely right that this medication thing is so complex and individual. I was frightened in the neurologist's office when he announced that my EEG was significantly abnormal. First it was due to the words he used and second because 20+ years ago I was on both Dilation then Tegretol. I used to having very bad reactions to both of them they took me off. After a year of "no seizures" I was cleared. Fast forward 20 years a little space out in the car sent me to the doctor for several tests. When I realized I had to go back on to meds I was afraid of how my body would react this time. I am on Lamictal and have increased my dosage gradually with time. So far I am up to 75 mg and have not had yet any bad side effects. But each day I wonder when it will happen. I have a very hard time with the idea that I have to be on any of these medications, because I know there will be some side effect, something like rash you have experienced with Lamictal.
