Your response is useless. Women do not come on here to be lectured. They come to seek support, find answers and share their stories. Regardless if there is no follow-up. Not everyone has friends to talk to or they like to keep their life private, so by posting on a thread, it will do just that for them. You sound ignorant and angry. Not every woman is taking Plan B as their regular BC, and if they wanted to--who cares if it disgusts you--it's their body and their choice. None of this has anything to do with reality shows. That is a completely different subject. Woman's health has been a long discussion much before any of those reality actors were even conceived. Bottom line, you sound like an id**t.

OK EVERYONE! It is perfectly normal to have some spotting about a week after taking PLAN B or another emergency contraceptive. It is also perfectly normal to be late or early on your cycle after taking it. You would have to wait about a couple weeks to take a pregnancy test. I hate it when people comment with a similar story. THAT IS USELESS!

Same thing happened to me you guys but I HAVE AN ANSWER! I took plan B 22 hours after the condom broke and I've taken it before and I never bleed but this time I did..like exactly one week after wards for like a whole week and it was light bleeding but I knew it wasn't my period because I had it two weeks ago. But after waiting and waiting..I counted 28 days when that bleeding started and behold my period is here. At first I got like a thick brown discharge and then brown light blood for two days and some cramps and my full brown period is here ! I was so scared just like the rest of you but now on Friday I'm getting back on birth control. Lord knows my life is over if I were to have a kid. Hopefully this helps someone.

I see that a lot of you have posted questions but little answers.  I have taken plan a couple of times before and neither times I bled in between periods, just got my regular period a few days late.  Now; My last period started October 25, I have a very regular 28 day cycle, on November 1st the condom broke, about 12 hrs later I took plan B, had the usual symptoms of nausea, headache, breast tenderness....On November 8th I started what it seemed to be a peroid since I was more than just spotting, enough to fill a couple pads for about 3 days but the blood was dark brown and what looked like old blood.  I had sex a few times after this using condoms except some day around the 21st of NOvember, Took a pregancy test on the 28th of NOvember and got a very faint postitive. Went to the ER the night after due to cramping and a one time brown spotting insident the day before. Couldnt find the pregnancy on ultrasound but tested postive with a quantitative blood test, followed up two days later to see if it was the resedue of a miscarreage but to my sad surprise the hormone levels had tripled, so apparently it is a viable pregnancy.  Now trying to figure out if I got pregnant back on the first of november and Plan B didnt work, or if it was a less than a week before the postive home pregnancy test.

I had my period on March 1st-4th. I usually have my period every 29-30 days, so I should be ovulating somewhere from the 12th-17th. (Fertility is apparently at its highest the days before ovulation and when you ovulate. The egg only stays alive for a day, but the sperm can live for 5 days.) Went on spring break with my boyfriend from March 7th-13th. We had unprotected sex once a day pretty much the entire week, and I'm not on bc. Believe me, we both know it was absolutely stupid, but long distance didn't help us resist or make a good choice. I'm not a fan of birth control because I don't think extra hormones are healthy, plus I'm not having regular sex. I don't want to take something everyday if I'm only seeing my boyfriend every three months. And he prefers to use the pull-out method instead of condoms. Well we are both regretting that now. Anyways, the last time we had sex was the morning of March 13th. I went home and took Plan B one-step 48 hours later, the morning of the 15th. Last night, March 19th - 4 days after taking the pill, I had some light dark brown spotting. Then today, I had some bleeding. Not period-level bleeding, but bright red blood. I researched everything and I'm now trying to figure out if this irregular bleeding is implantation bleeding or just from Plan B. I'm seeing that everyone else had the same problem, so I'm going to assume that it's normal and my period will be somewhat on time. I have to wait another week before I can take a pregnancy test, but I'll make sure to follow up with the results. Also, I'm not having any other symptoms like nausea or food cravings/aversions. I'm having some abdominal cramping with the bleeding, but that's about it. Also, I've been doing my best trying to prevent a fertilized egg from attaching to the wall if there is one. I took a buttload of vitamin c for two days. And then the last two days I've been drinking about 350 mg of caffeine per day. Just a suggestion for other women. It doubles the chances of a miscarriage, which when you're not wanting to get pregnant is desirable.

I have read that you can take a pregnancy test around 3-5 days after 'implantation bleeding' to see if you are pregnant. So if you think that it is implantation bleeding, test around the 3rd day after the bleeding began. I have also read that many people start to bleed or 'spot' around a week after taking plan b, so it sounds normal to me.

Okay on oct 31 I enter my girlfriend then pulled away and was worried about precum. So 19-22 hrs later she took plan b. Five days later she had her period a week early but had bad cramps for like an hour then they went away. Everything thing from that she was normal. Could she be pregnant?

Relax and listen to my story. I have taken plan b around 5 times my whole life. The first 4 times I never had any spotting. This most recent time I started spotting 3 days after having taken the pill. This spotting went on for 11 days. Today I got my period, right on schedule. I have come to understand the reason for no spotting with my previous experiences is because of timing. It is all in the timing after all. See, the last times I took this pill it was late in my cycle. This time it was much earlier. I took a pregnancy test 5 days before my period. I also took one this morning. Both came out negative. I also heard from some doctors if you see clots, it is most likely not IB. IB happens to about 1 in 3 women. Even then it typically only lasts 2-3 days and should remain light. There are exceptions, but that's generally how it works. I called the pharmacist and she said spotting is normal. I know for sure my period is here today because it is beyond heavy with large clots. Very different from what I have been experiencing the past couple of days. I come back to this forum because others helped ease my mind. I would like to ease yours the best I can. Relax, laugh, try and redirect your focus. Be safe ladies, and gentlemen too. I wish you all nothing but the best.
