I take 600mg of Lyrica a day for nerve pain. I have failed to make it to the pharmacy to refill before and gone a day without the med-- it sucked! Hot flashes, horrible nausea, headache; Lyrica certainly isn't "the hard stuff" but I think it messes with your body just the same. I'm out of state and have no refills on my Lyrica, no doctor, screwed. In preperation for what I know will happen when I run out later this week, I'm surfing the net looking for home remedies to ease withdrawal symptoms. My husband is a travel nurse and works very long hours. I have a 5 year old to care for and laying in bed for 5 days doesn't seem like an option.  If anyone has any good advice or tips please share! Thanks in advance.

my experience with lyrica. it was given to me for anxiety last july. i was started on 25mg and upped to 150mg. on this dose i couldnt tolerate that level, even on the lower level, i still felt more anxious and depressed. After several meetings with my doctor over that time, each time i told her it made me feel worse, but as they think they know how everyones body works, they wouldnt take me off it. Only 3 weeks ago i insisted that i come off it. They agreed, and i must say i tapered down by 25mg every 5 days. And by god, after the first dose decrease alone i felt better and i just kept on feeling better, before taking lyrica i never suffered with depression. im off it now and i feel so much better, my skin has gone back to normal, im not itching all the time, i have lost weight, more energy. i also have a decrease in pain, i have schuermanns disease. It made me feel stoned all the time with no energy, and i was always active and that depressed me more. On certain days coming off it, i did feel more anxious at times, upset stomach, strange dreams which only lasted a few days. im wasa much lower dose than the above, so you could be different. but let me state that lyrica can be very good for people with pain and anxiety, but im not one of them. my doctor said it could be something to do with genetics. good luck.
