Hey all,

I've had fairly regular short-ish (5/10 minute) nosebleeds for pretty much as long as I can remember, generally once every month or two, particularly if I've had a cold. Four weeks ago I had an incredibly heavy bleed of the constant-dripping tissues-are-useless clots-and-all kind which lasted 20 minutes, and another one later that evening, even heavier, which lasted 40 minutes, nothing like I'd ever experienced before. I ended up in A&E, and had my nose cauterized the next day.

I didn't quite think that would mean the end of nosebleeds forever, but I thought I might have seen the back of them for a while. I've been careful for the last month, not blown my nose too hard, kept it moisturised etc, and was just starting to get rid of the paranoia when I had another bleed last weekend - though it was light, by my usual standards it was nothing, just 2 spots of blood on a tissue and then it was gone. And then just now I had a look in the mirror and saw my nose was bloody: it's just around where there seems to be a scab from the last time it bled.

Now, this is more regularly than my nose ever bled before it was cauterized, so does anyone have any idea what's going on? Is this normal? Is it possible that it might not have fully healed yet and I've somehow managed to keep disturbing the scab? Am I just being super paranoid and should I stop peering up my nose at every possible opportunity and relax? ;)
