PEG-INTRON and Ribavirin are used as therapy in chronic hepatitis C treatment. PegIntron consists pegylated interferon dosage that's personalized according to your size, and RIbavirin is an antiviral drug. Patients must be at least 18 years old with compensated liver disease and not been previously treated with interferon alpha. Interferon is a natural compound produced by immune system to boost your immunity and regulate other cell functions. In people with hepatitis C, adding a type of human interferon to the interferons your body already made may stimulate immune response toward hepatitis C.
