YES, PLAN B can make your period earlier than usual, or later than usual, it is really an individual response.

I took Plan B about a week ago, a day after I had unprotected sex. The day before unprotected sex was the last day of my period. So at the time, I wouldn't be expecting my period until 3 weeks later. Today I experienced a little bleeding, it's a light red/brown colour..not a lot, but it scared me. What's going on? Is this normal or is something terribly wrong?

That is normal.

PLAN B chnages your cycle.. You would expect a period in 3 weeks, "normally", but you took PLAN B, so it changed.

Almost ALL women have bleeding 1-2 weeks after plan b use.

I had sex with my husband and the condom broke. I took plan B the same day after hours of having sex and the second one after 12 hours as prescribed. But i started bleeding almost 12 days before my actual cycle and the bleeding as usual as it would be for my periods.

Am I in some sort of trouble....

AGAIN.. Your normal period was not due for 12 days, but because you took plan B it chnaged all that.

PLAN B totally chnages your cycle for a short time, that is normal.

I had the same thing happen. I had sex a day after my regular period ended; the condom broke so i went and got the morning after pill. Exactly a week after I took had sex I am experiencing what seems to be a period, it is lighter than normal but seems like a period. Could this be because of Plan B...or is it something else. Im really confused because i shouldnt get my regular period for another 2 weeks.

This could be your period...

Try not to worry.. This is what happens when you use PLAN B, which is why regular birth control is best.

Wow I cant believe I found this site! Ok, so I had unprotected sex, took Plan B correctly, and about a week and a half later, I exerienced dark, chunky bleeding, much like most of the posters on this site. However, that was a week ago, and I am still bleeding the same amount as I was before. Is it normal that it has been so constant and has stuck around so long? Usually my period lasts about 5 days, and I understand that Plan B screws around with your cycle, but is it ok that it is going on this long with no signs of stopping? If it is normal, how long will it last?

I took plan b and about a week after it i experienced what seemed to be a period. (2 weeks earlier than normal period) I was relieved (but confused) because i thought it meant i couldnt be pregnant. Right now it is around when i should get my normal period and im experiencing brownish colored spotting. Im not sure if my period would be at the normal time since i experienced what i thought was a period 2 weeks early after i took the morning after pill. Is it still possible that i could be pregnant? I have no symptoms of it. And What does this spotting mean?

if you get your period again after taking Plan B when should you expect your next period a month or so after taking plan B or the normal cycle time?

I am so glad that I found this site. I am usually on the pill (past 3 years), but missed the end of my pack because I had mono, and was back at home instead of college. Anyhow, my boyfriend and I had sex on the 11th day of my cycle, and the condom broke. He pulled out as he realized it, but about 1/2 of the semen probably was left inside me. We immediately went and got the Plan B, and I took the first pill within 45 mintues (and the second pill 11 hours later). 5 days after the incident, and the day after I began a new pack of pills, I had dark red/brown light bleeding. The following day was about the same, light bleeding, but dark brown. Yesterday was more like a period ( when I woke up until around 5), lighter than usual, but enough to soak 2-3 "pads" of toilet paper, and the usual dark red color. Today was lighter than yesterday, and more brown - from when I woke up till around 3. I am having cramps and some breast tenderness (not to the point where I can't run or anything like that).

After seeing other posts, I think this is normal? I am really glad people took the time to make this site. I was so freaked out when I started bleeding because the Plan B packet doesn't mention how common it is. Of course when it first happened, I assumed it was implantation bleeding and was so stressed. My boyfriend and I usually don't use condoms since I am on the pill, so I didn't have alot of experience with them, and definitely didn't think it would break.

I have taken Plan B one other time (about 4 months ago, after missing 2 pills). I didn't get this reaction, so thats the one thing that still stresses me. But I am thinking that maybe since I just started a new pack, it made the hormones even more messed up.

So this is normal? I shouldn't be worried, right? I think the odds are with me, but sometimes it's just nice to hear it from people who know what they are talking about. Thanks so much!

My girlfriend and I had unprotected sex at the end of her period and she took the plan B as instructed. It has been one week since taking the pills and she has had some bleeding. We're worried because this is also a sign of pregnancy that can happen at the same time. Can we expect more bleeding after this? And how long can the bleeding last after taking the pills at this time in the cycle?
