Hi all! I have been very interested in the way in which different diseases, particularly autoimmune disorders, can overlap in some cases. Take polymyalgia rheumatica and temporal arteritis for instance, they say that these two frequently come together in the same patient. Can you tell me more about this? Thanks!

I know that temporal arteritis is a horrible disease that can require extensive treatment to prevent the loss of vision and a whole host of other horrible stuff. But polymyalgia rheumatica is something I know normally goes away on its own within a couple of years. I am not sure how the two are connected, though you may well be right there a link.
