I have heard that disease overlap is fairly common with certain types of autoimmune disorders. Now, I am hoping to find out more about the groups of disorders that often go together. Is there anybody on this forum who would be able to help me out with this? Does lupus frequently overlap with polymyositis? Could you perhaps point me to any sources or simply share your information?

It is possible that these two diseases may coincide, but in many cases the truth is a lot simpler than that. Lupus patients are likely to suffer from muscle weakness due to the medications they are taking. Cortisone can cause these symptoms, along with fatigue, especially when taken in high doses.
