After three days surgery when the bleeding subsided the anus started to develop pus and mucus. Very heavily. Did create a sense of panic. I was already taking regular sitz bath, visits to the beach for soaks so i didnt know what next to do.
However I realised the area was becoming even more painful when the pus was in the area. I made sure to wash the area with red lavender and again with fresh warm water to clean the area. Followed by dropping virgin olive oil in the area. After the first treatment, the pus subsided. Day 4- 5 the pus is there but in small amount and is lessening. Trust this could be help to someone.

I am 6 wks post op of complete hemorrhoidectomy of external hems. I had all three Peticles removed. Lots of pain! I also got constipated and didn’t fully poop for like 8 days after surgery. recovery has been slow and steady and still leaking. It gets less and less every day but don’t use pads!!! Fold a 4x4” gauze pad and stick it between your cheeks. I can’t stand the swamp ass feeling and it’s not good for healing. Bathe as much as possible. I do not do sits baths because I don’t want to sit on the toilet longer than necessary.

Hi, I'm 10 weeks after surgery and on the edge of going nuts cos tired of pain and narrow anus, etc. Still have leakage if I cannot empty bowels 100%, which happens often.
I put facial cotton pad with some aloe vera gel on my anus and change it few times a day.

I'm 8 month post op from my second hemorrhoidectomy. Got all clear from the consultant, but I was left with an external skin tag. Now I am bleeding, but she said it's ok. I want the second opinion.

Hi all. So happy I found this forum. Sometimes you feel really alone post op. Like the world is moving on but you're standing still. Lots of pain, blood and mucus. Glad to hear others have this too.

I'm 4 weeks post op and most blood is gone. Stool normal but with puss every now and then. Still dealing with some pain while sitting down but it's less every day.

After 3 weeks I had a gigantic puss ball right underneath my skin, it got discharged when I touched it and that took away most of my pain. What a relief.

Now hoping the process is almost done. Taking sitz baths 3x per day with salt. Will try with iodine later today (never added that before).

Overall the process has been horrible and the doctor really undersold the post op recovery. I was not able to do anything normal until after week 3. So glad when this is all over.

It's gets better, but super super slow. Unfortunately. I had grade 4 hemmeroids but didn't hurt at all.
