Parasympathetic nervous system controls the erection....but completely different nervous fibers of Sympathetic and not para...are controlling ejaculations...different processes

Hi. I have had two epidural injections now my wife complains why I can't get it up. I was puzzled had me thinking what went wrong where there wasn't any problem before. I would like to know what kind of help I can get so I can get excited again. Pls inform about what to do at the Dr. Level.

Wonder if you even resolved your issue. I had 2 epidural injections for lower back pain and ever since then my sex drive is zero. Before the injections my wife and I would have sex 2-3 times per week with no issues and now I can't get an erection or if I get one, it lasts 30 seconds or less. Similar to you my injections were on the L-5 level. It has been about 9 months now and still co improvement.

This reaction could be due to anything, like the cortisone calming some prostate minor inflammation. But it's evident that doing it again and again will do the exact opposite, it'll f**k up your endocrine system, we're talking about hormones and steroids here. It is still likely that you'll experience it after one shot. Desired effects of cortisone are very short term, but it generally f**ks you up on the long term with even small doses.

To all of you experiencing problems after cortisone shots, focus on an endocrinologist and have global hormonal check (cortisol, testosterone, thyroid function etc.). A good endocrinologist should be able to help you regulate those levels if something abnormal, it should be of tremendous help. Cortisone is sh*t. sh*t to the square. I don't know how doctors still prescribe it in the US, they never do it Europe except for terminal cancers and the like, not exaggerating. A doctor in France or Germany won't give you a cortisone shot not even if you beg for it. I had a broken shoulder 10 years ago it healed with time (2-3 years) and physiotherapy (and stopping sports in that while....). The sports doc in Paris refused to give a cortisone shot in the tendon. Modern medicine is no amateur game.

I had that issue when I herniated my L5 and my sciatic got pinched. I could ejaculate without even getting hard and it was quick and virtually no sexual feeling. After surgery, it was like I had had sex for the first time, felt great and very pleasing. Have the doc get an MRI of your lower back, probably a crushed nerve.
