I'm wondering if there is any evidence of YAZ birth control pills causing bloating, stomach pain and constipation????

I don't know about evidence, but I have been having horrible stomach upset accompanied by feelings of nausea and weakness/shakiness, on and off, completely unpredictably, for the last 2-3 mos. I am on Yaz, and for the first 3-4 mos. of it noticed no bad effects. Now, I am wondering if it is the cause of some of my discomfort.
Sorry I don't know the answer to your question, but I am of the opinion that Yaz could be causing some of my problems. So perhaps it is possible that it is affecting you like this too. I don't know, but I have almost decided to stop taking any pills, since I take them not for birth control but for easing the discomfort of a painful period.
Maybe someone else out there has helpful info on this topic?

I am having the same stomach problems and it seems to be getting increasingly worse! I am going to get off of Yaz ASAP!

i just started yaz yesterday so i can't speak for the side effects, however, i had this exact same thing happen on nuvaring. i was on it and fine stomach wise for 3 months when all of a sudden i started to experience the world's worst stomach cramps (they would last for 3-5 hours at a time) and eventually the only way i controlled them was with diet--so i ate only the BRAT diet for weeks, lost 15 lbs etc. I finally noticed during my "off" week of nuvaring i didn't have these problems. So i took a month off and tried again and within 24 hours of starting back up, i had the stomach bloating and painful "i want to die" cramps. i'm hoping yaz will not do this to me...it's been a year since the nuvaring and i haven't used hormonal bc since.
good luck and the only way to tell if it's the hormones is to go off of them for a month and then get back on and see if things go away and come back, because trust me--your doctor will say "i've never heard of that happening before, i don't think it could be the bc"--at least that's what mine said.
