I've been using Nuvaring for over 5 years and just a month ago removed it and did not replace after my last period. A week before my suppose start date I start spotting here and there. Now, the week I should have my period I continue to randomly spot but no signs of my "normal" period. Could I be pregnant already!???

Hi.
When you stop using hormonal birth control like the NuvaRing, it's common for your menstrual cycle to be irregular for a while as your body adjusts. This can include symptoms like spotting or a delayed period. It can take some time for your menstrual cycle to return to its natural rhythm after discontinuing hormonal contraception.
Regarding the possibility of pregnancy, it's important to remember that once you stop using birth control, you can become pregnant if you have unprotected sex. The timeline for how quickly pregnancy can occur after stopping birth control varies for each person. Some women can become pregnant immediately, while for others, it might take longer.
After stopping NuvaRing, it's normal to experience some changes in your menstrual cycle. This can include irregular periods, changes in flow, or spotting.
If you've had unprotected sex since removing the NuvaRing, there is a possibility of pregnancy. Pregnancy symptoms can vary and may include missed periods, nausea, breast tenderness, or fatigue, but these can also be symptoms of other changes in the body.
If you suspect you might be pregnant, the best way to confirm is by taking an over-the-counter pregnancy test. These tests are designed to detect the hormone hCG in your urine and can usually provide accurate results around the time of your expected period.
