Good to know. I am so scared I won't ever be the same. I tapered down by 5mg using a drug compounder for 3 months. Monday was my first cymbolta free day and yesterday and today have had progressively worse withdrawal symptoms. I want to cry and I don't even want to tell my family because I know they are so sick of heari g about it and think I just need to pull through. I cant drive or get anything done. It is good to know it will get better because I have yet to see a good day off the drug. I was hoping tapering would keep the side effects at bay but that doesn't feel like the case.

Mike, don't know if you will see this but I've searched for your older posts to find out your protocol but have had no luck. Can you re-post your withdrawal schedule please?

I went off the cymbalta cold turkey about a week ago. I'm having horrible withdrawls and to say I'm miserable is a positive way to put it. I'm having severe brain zaps, I'm dizzy, I'm moody, and I just feel overall yucky.

I wasn't warned about withdrawals and if I would have known I would have declined taking cymbalta in the first place. I had these same exact issues when I came off of Effexor. The withdrawals took months and months to go away.

Is there anything I can do to help lessen this insanity??

Hi, my daughter is suffering horrible, horrible withdrawal from cymbalta. The zaps, tremors, agitation, crying spells, etc. The list can go on and on. This drug is the absolute worst thing out there. We decided to do drop down with beads, her Dr agreed as she had another patient doing the same thing. Please respond as to what I can do to help her ease these horrible withdrawal symptoms. This acetylcholine, what is this, and how do we supplement her with this. Your response is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Sincerely,
Worried mom in NJ

I couldn't handle the horrible side effects while on this drug (It was so difficult to work full time) and the withdrawl symptoms drove me mad. I finally spoke with my doctor after doing some research. Had been on 30 mg for over a year (he had initially prescribed me 90, then 60 mg, but I only took 30 mg as soon as i was able to break from the 60 mg. i had never taken the full 90 mg and was only taking 60 for a very short period; so the change to 30 wasn't a bid deal. HOWEVER trying to get off the 30 was pure hell. i tried going cold turkey and initially felt GREAT! more energy, i could focus. amazing close to my old self. THEN CRASHED. tried again by taking counting the little dots and bringing myself down to 27 mg. still hard. then finally spoke with doctor who brought me down to 20 with prozac for a week, then dropped the cymbalta completely and increased the prozac for a week. i dropped the prozac within a few weeks and haven't been on anything for 2 months. still a struggle but no hell. just trying to get some exercise, enjoying friends, going to the movies, having some wine and film nights with friends, cleaning the house (wasn't doing that due to lack of energy) changing my diet by adding more fruits and vegetables and starting to garden. it is a week to week basis but it will work if you work with your doctor. GOOD LUCK! KEEP FRIENDS AND FAMILY AROUND. MY TWO PUGS KEEP ME SMILING AND LOVED AND HELP ME KEEP GOING. DON'T GIVE UP!

I'm sorry about what you're going through, anxiety can be so paralyzing. Know you're not alone. I hope you are feeling better. My sister did really well taking Zoloft for anxiety.

I was on 60 mg for the past three months for Fibromyalgia and went cold turkey 6 days ago. I wish someone would have warned me about the withdrawals. the first two days I was away and had a bit of wine.It hit me like a Mac truck. Mon started the vomiting and the headaches. The crazy drunk haze of day 4. I feel stoned constantly. I am drinking a lot of water but can't stomach too much food. In the past three months I went from 132 to 123. This was not the way I wanted to loose weight!!! This drug is messed up big time. I have to travel to Europe in two days and not sure how this will go. Any recommendations for NATURAL ways to speed this up would be greatly appreciated.
