Hi, I am 18 and for the past 2 months I have been getting lots of watery discharge and it does smell. I went to the doctor and had all the tests done for STI’S they came back negative. I cant make out what it could be and its so embarrassing because it makes all my pants and trousers smell too. I had chlymidia last year and was treated for it so I get so paranoid and I have always had safe sex since so I don’t know what to do. What else do you think it could be?

Hi I know these posts are really old, but I had the same problem and googled it and this forum came up. I had browny watery discharge that wasnt smelly to start with but then after a few days became abit sour in smell and then another day or two it was abit more offensive smell. I just had a baby 9 mths ago so went to the dr to speak about going back on the pill and the discharge (maybe cos I wasnt on the pill my body was out of wack due to trying to return to normal after having a baby).
But turns out after a vaginal swab was taken....the normal and healthy bacteria that lives in the vagina, had travelled up into my uterus and was multipling, which was cause for the discharge and smell (as the bacteria was somewhere it shouldnt have been). I have been prescribed a course of anti-biotics and should be all fixed in 10 days.
My dr was quick to emphasis that it was just an unlucky thing that maybe only will ever happen once in a womans life time(if that), and that it wasnt due to anything I did, my partner did, wasnt a STD, and wasnt in any way going to effect fertilty.
Hope this helps future women :-)
