Weight gain after gallbladder surgery

I had my gallbladder removed about three years ago and have steadily gained weight even though my diet has stayed virtually the same. Does this surgery aid in the ease of weight gain?

I just had my gallbladder removed 2 days ago and I know they fill the abdomen up with gas so they have room to work (i know this because I have had laproscopic surgery before to remove ovarian cysts) with my other surgery the gas started to pass with in the first few days. This hasnt happened yet...
