Hello:

After I lost my virginity between periods I've been bleeding excessively. I'm worried beacuase my periods are heavier and since my last period only a week past and I've experience heavy bleeding again. My periods were 6 to 7 days but with normal fluid, now they last less 4 to 5 days but with heavy bleeding. Why is this occuring? Is this normal? Please help me.

Thank you.

You lost your virginity and you need to know that you are not the same anymore. After losing virginity, many women can feel the difference when it’s the matter of their period, like you did. If you are having such problems (your period became heavier, more painful, you have inter-menstrual bleeding, bleeding after sex..), I would always advise you to go see your doctor.
What do you mean by “heavy bleeding”? Women bleed heavily when they bleed for more than 8-10 days, also when the bleeding is so heavy that they become anaemic and when they get sudden, unexpected onset of periods. Do you have some of these symptoms?
You should also know that in younger women heavy periods are most often due to a temporary hormone imbalance and it usually corrects itself by its own.
However it is, you shouldn’t miss consulting your doctor!

I had this problem for a little while. your body may just need time to adjust. I did alot of reading up on this and there are tons of scary things that it probably isn't. my advice is to talk to your doctor, try not to worry as this can also effect your periods. keep a diary of bleeding and how heavy it is on a scale of 1-10. then you can see if it is just random or not. if your periods are really really heavy you could consider going on the pill as this wil make your periods lighter and almost pain free.
