I have been on the pill for two months now and my doctor told me that there may be some occasional spotting, but the bleeding I get is very similar to my period and it is getting hard to tell the difference. Usually when I go to the bathroom there is a lot of bloody discharge. I am regularly sexually active and usually without a condom... should i be worried?

It's considered normal that you have irregular bleeding or spotting for up to three months when you start the pill, but if this continues to happen after this period of time or the bleeding continues to be heavy than you definitely will need to see with your doctor if this is the right type of birth control pill for you, because there are other options that maybe might be better. Since you are near this three months limit, I would suggest you to schedule a checkup to see what's going on exactly.

I had the same issue with the pill. I kept switching brands (three months each) for almost a year but no use. Every month I had my period exactly three days before finishing active pills, every single month! I was a regular and disciplined pill user, never missed one, but still persistently had periods on active pills. It's not just spotting, but full out period with all the symptoms (swollen breasts, cramping and stuff). I stopped taking it a month ago, it was just driving me nuts, I couldn't take it any longer.
