bleeding for 20 days straight on seasonique with no end in sight!

I am 39 and was put on Aviane by my primary care. I then went to a new ob/gyn which i adore. She started me on Seasonique. I advised my primary care about this. He told me to skip the inactive pills and go straight into Seasonique. Ever since the last week of Aviane and since I started Seasonique which I will be on my third week of that I have been bleeding continuously with no end in sight whihc is now almost 21 days. I called my obgyn and she said that is definately not normal. I am supposed to call her next week to let her know if I am still bleeding. We talked about her doing an endometrial ablation if the bleeding did not stop but the waiting is killing me. I have terrible cramps every day and have to take 3200 mg at once to get it to stop. Then they start in again the next day. Does anyone else have this problem I can't seem to find anything anywhere regarding this info. I know about breakthrough bleeding but I thought i would bleed a few days and it would stop and start but i never thought it would go on contiunously. Also my mother and grandmother both had hysterectomies I believe around my age but I dont know for what reason and i was never really in contact with either of them after age of 8 so I have nothing to go on. Any info would be great thanks.

Hi honey! What you have is called Dysfunctional Uterine Bleeding! Many women have this - it is from a hormonal imbalance! you have been on combination pills, I would suggest you go on a Progestine only pill! Due to your age, you could look into having a hysterctomy - I had one at 36! The ablation is a newer procedure and can be quite costly - as it is more about choice! Try the progestine only pill first OK?

I am also on seasonique.... I started my First pack around August 2010, first two months were OK, the third I had breakthrough bleeding almost the entire month till I got my period. Second pack same thing, Third Pack I started bleeding through the second month and then the Fourth Pack I started bleeding through the first month... So my bleed throughs have gotten worse and NOT better..... I also have an enlarged groin lymph node (has anyone else experienced that/this) O and I have fibroid tumors too. So I went to my GYN and he didn't even check the nodes! But wants a biopsy and then talked with the hospital and now they want to surgically remove it, say WHAT! There's NO cause for that what so ever!!!!! So I'm going to go for a second opinion. I have been under LOADS of stress as well, I think it's all somehow linked but he's not seeming to listen to me... O and to boot he wants me to finish out the second month and then STOP taking the pill for a month and then re-start, that should help with the bleed through... WHAT? HOW... Please explain. UGH.... Doctors need to start spending more time with patients.... I am starting acupuncture and will be doing some herbal meds as well for the fibroid tumors, if it works I'll let you know.

O BTW, I don't know if this would affect bleed through or not... But the yellow pills? I didn't realize you were supposed to take them with seasonique. I thought they were sugar pills you could skip (like I've done many times on previous pills).... I do NOT recall my doctor telling me to take those.... And he hasn't mentioned it either... Any thoughts?
