I have been on Seasonique Birth Control for over 2 years now. For the last 3 months I have experienced heavy breakthru bleeding - almost daily. Sometimes to the point of thinking that I might be having a miscarriage (I have taken pregnancy tests - all coming back negative). It becomes EXTREMELY heavy (& painful!) and never seems to let up. Other times it is really light. Today, for example, I didn't bleed at all until around 8pm. I was hoping that it was going to let up, but it didn't. I talked to the triage nurse at my OB/GYN office (and told her all of the things that I have experienced) and she said that she feels that it is stress related. I have started school and taken on a few extra projects, but my NO means do I feel that I am stressed out (or stressing my body out). The bleeding has become a major inconvience, to me and my sex life. I am beginning to become worried, and I feel that they aren't listening. Has anyone else experienced this?

I completely feel your pain. Sometimes I get breatkthrough bleeding inbetween periods, along with the cramping and heaviness. But mine does eventually go away after a few days. But the point is, is that you're not alone! Every woman's body is different and your body may just reacting to the bc differently now. I would suggest that you try a new method or a new type of pill. Because sometimes after a while your body hormones can become slightly unbalanced, hence causing the breakthrough bleeding. So I dont think you should worry too much. Just try a little something different, for a while and see if anything changes (breakthrough bleeding) and if the bleeding stops if you change the method or pill, then you have your answer that it was the type of pill causing the imbalancing and just that your body needed somethng differet and new. So hang in there! dont stress out over it because it will just make it worse!

Good Luck

(p.s. lots of information due to being a current Nurse/Med student, in Obstetrics and Gynecology ;D)

I'm having these exact same problems currently! I'm 18, and I'm scared. I've tried everything! Stopping the pill, doubling up, nothing is working! Did you solve your issue? I've been bleeding heavily for 4months.
