Hi, I need some help finding appropriate bone marrow donor. It’s for my son, who has been diagnose acute lymphocytic leukemia. Any info would mean great help.

I wish you all the luck finding a bone marrow donor. Doctors compare stem cells from donor bone marrow to patient stem cells. If they closely match, then there are better chances that recipient body will accept bone marrow. Brothers and sisters can donor best bone marrow, because stem cells closely match. There is also National Marrow Donor Program where you could try to find close match donor. There are two ways to donate bone marrow, trough blood and by surgical operation. Donor might feel little discomfort, but it won’t last long. Anesthesia wears little risk of having fatigue, fever, and headache.
