My penis has been rubbing too much on clothes and now it is bruised around the head and its not too painful but its swelled up. Im just wondering how long this should last and what I should do. Its not too painful but a little itchy. Its bruised below the head and a bruised ring around it

Steroid ointments or creams like betamethasone will help.
I originally used that for thinning my foreskin so it would stretch, but still use it if ever a friction burn pops up. Clobetasone is another that should not thin the skin.

yeah, its a bit bloated at the front below the head, when should the swelling go down? its been 2 days now, going down a little and itchier now

I do not know how much the steroid would help with the swelling, but since it is an anti-inflammatory it should help with the itching.
I am in the UK and so can go to see my GP anytime. If I was in your position I would be asking him about it soon.

Itching is counter productive. My psychiatrist once asked me to explain OCD symptoms to a student. When I told him that some compulsions that are in fact tics, but are put under the OCD label, the psychiatrist asked (to aid the student) "Like trying to resist an itch?" I said no, as this is a stereotype that I believe to be inaccurate. I tested that one out.
So whilst it is difficult not to itch, try very hard not to, or you will inflame the situation.
That is the best that I can give you.
