Hi there. My mother has partial hearing loss. As far as I know there are many causes of this disease. My question is can ear infection cause partial hearing loss ( I had one recently and right now I am worried about that possibility)? If yes, which one is most common?

Doctors agreed that infection can be cause of hearing loss. Middle ear fluid, which builds up behind the ear drum, is a sign of ear infections. Because it can damage hearing, doctors suggests examines from preschool period. It is known that the fluid is a breeding ground for bacteria that attacks ear and those cases; middle ear fluid is a result of the infection.

My mother has experienced sudden hearing loss in her right ear that so far has not been explained. Her ear is blocked. A tumor has been ruled out by an ABR Test. What could be causing this loss of hearing?
