Hi everyone. I have heard many things about hearing loss in children. Because I am pregnant I wanted to know something about ways it can affect my baby. Can genetic factor cause partial hearing loss or just exposure to noise or injury? I am asking this because I have several family members with partial hearing loss.

Hearing loss can vary greatly among children and can be caused by many things. Most children have temporary hearing loss when fluid gets in the middle ear from allergies or colds. Genetic factors are the cause of hearing loss in about 50% of babies. Hearing loss can affect a child's ability to develop speech, language, and social skills. It’s very important to detect it on time and solve this problem together with your child.
