It seems that like a lot of things in life it can be good but not in excess and you have to be careful not to overuse it. I think that kids can learn from it although I don't think that babies can learn from it as much. I think that those Baby Einstein tapes have been proven to be pretty ineffective but I think everything that's in this article is pretty accurate so I'm glad to read about it. Thanks for posting it!

I think the type of Television matters a lot more than the duration of TV watched. A kid could watch Muzzy for 6hrs straight here in Britain (I don't know the American equivalent) and walk away with an improved second language. Whereas I think a kids attitude to education would be damaged by certain Disney channel programmes, because of the constant portrayal of smart people as nerds and taking an interest in school is uncool.

It all comes down to the content in the end, the values and beliefs that get instilled in the child.

I think that we would call that Barney, here, and a lot of kids do have quality programming like that. But yes, I do agree with you 100%.
