Hey Penny, I go Monday. I am nervous, as I know the fistula is still there and don't want bad news... But, I know I have to just wait and see, this is the hardest part. ughhh.... This weekend has been really tough because I am just nervous...
On the brighter side, I was able to get 3.5 days out of my appliance, YEAH!!! That made me very happy...
Hey Penny, did you ever feel gas go through your fistula when you had the ileo. I have, that is why I know it is there and the obvious issue I had with the fecal matter after the surgery.
I am so crossing my fingers for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bea, I am glad you found this site, but sorry, as well. It sucks. I have had one failed flap that made my rvf huge...then had an ileo and another surgery vaginally and I know the fistula is still there, right now. I go to my Dr. on Monday. Anyway, I am sorry you are going through this...be well, b

Hi b,
Thanks. Good luck for Monday. I agree with you about the waiting and uncertainty being one of the worse things. It makes the whole process a real wind up.
Just to say that I think I can feel air in the fistula - not exactly gas passing - even with the colostomy and the bags with filters. Do you get any advise form your doctors on baths? are they a good thing/bad thing? with salt or without? I'm going to ask my surgeon on Wednesday just wondered what you thought.
