Had unprotected sex, period is late but having all symptoms of period

Hi all I have a few questions and concerns. To start off, I've been married for a year and on and off my husband and I have been having unprotected sex before and after my period. Thankfully, I haven't gotten pregnant. Now, the thing that's been happening recently is that I got my period and it was very light in October on time but we had unprotected sex after it. In November my period was about 2 1/2 weeks late and it was very very heavy...heavier than it would normally be. Now in December I was expecting to get my period on the 27th and I didn't get it. On the night of the 29th I had cramps and very very light pink spotting. Now, this morning (the 30th), I have been getting all period like symptoms and I have been getting a brownish blood-like discharge & very mild cramps along with it. I took a home preg. test (EPT) a few days before my expected period date & it was neg. What should I do? I am going to the gyno on the 3rd...but in the mean time I'm really stressed.
