I ave surgical clips left from years ago that I was not aware of until a few weeks ago.  I have experienced all kinds of chronic pain and fatigue, plus other issues and doctors have stated they don,t find any problem of real concern.  I have been given numerous medications for various medical conditions but nothing that have fully explained my deteriorating health.  Could the everyday pain, fatigue, inability to stand straight for no more than 10 minutes without assistance, a type of strangulation that disables my voice and causes me to speak and move like I am in distress somewhere in my gut, be caused from the clips.  I have not had good quality of life in more than 15 years.

Hello. It's understandably frustrating and concerning when you experience chronic health issues without a clear diagnosis.

Surgical clips are commonly used in various surgical procedures to close off blood vessels or other structures. For many people, they don't cause any problems. However, while complications from surgical clips are rare, there have been reports of some patients experiencing symptoms they believe are related to surgical clips left in the body.

Possible concerns with surgical clips might include:

  1. Migration: In very rare cases, surgical clips can move from their original location. This could potentially cause pain or other symptoms if they irritate nearby tissues or organs.
  2. Allergic Reaction: Some individuals may have allergic reactions to the materials used in surgical clips. However, this is also quite rare.
  3. Other Complications: Like any medical device or procedure, there's always a potential risk of complications, though they are generally low with surgical clips.

That being said, the symptoms you're describing—especially the severity and range of them—don't typically align with common complications or issues related to surgical clips. There could be other underlying conditions or factors causing your symptoms.

It's essential to consult with a medical professional, preferably a specialist who is familiar with post-surgical complications or the specific surgery you had. They might recommend imaging studies or other tests to evaluate the position and condition of the clips and to rule out other potential causes for your symptoms.

If you feel your concerns aren't being adequately addressed by your current healthcare providers, consider seeking a second opinion or consulting with specialists in related fields.
