Masturbating 2 or 3 a day is not excessive, but you might think about why you do it if it concerns you.
You could tell your sister that you have read about masturbation, and wondered what she thought about it. You don't necessarily have to tell her that you do it 2 or 3 times a day.
Where do you come from? Are there any cultural or religious implications? You are a virgin, but is hymen retention important to you. If so, you have to be careful how you masturbate.
