I am dealing with rheumatoid arthritis and I have been using non steroidal medicament. During my last check up, doctor recommended me Infliximab. I have started taking it and I must say that I am so thrilled with this drug. Pain and difficulties are almost gone, but some other problem occurred respiratory diseases. Can this be true, that Infliximab may decrease your ability to fight infection?

I was in almost the same situation. I consulted my doctor and he said that infections happen when this med is introduced into therapy. Mechanism of this drug is specific, it blocks the Tumor Necrosis factor. It acts as an immunosuppressant and anti inflammatory drug and enhances the possibility of getting an infection.
