I used monistat suppository on sunday night to relieve a yeast infection. I also used the little anti itch cream on the outside too. By mon I had a little swelling and painful burning and itching blisters all over my vagina and near my anus. I now afteer reading your stories beleive its an allergic reaction. It is tuesday now i stopped using the external cream. what do i do. do i need to go to the doc or just take some benadryl and wait it out. im soooo scared. also I think i got a hemmorid. I never had one before so its either that or one of those bumps in my anus. It is painful to go number two and it bleeds a little. should i use prepeartion H. Please helpppp!

For a swollen vulva use vitamin E and Borage Oil. Use this topically. If you have pills cut them with scissors and just put it one the vulva. This works immediately!!! The ice and cream did not work it made it worse. Try the vitamins....it really worked.

Try Alka Selser gold ( Gold the regular contains asprin. Drink several times as directed. I had results within an hour, the horrible burning stopped. Use several times a day. I also used a vitamin E pill, poked a hole in it with a safety pin and coated my labia with it several times a day, not inside your vagina. Ths was the day after my horrible experience and burning with Monastat 3 which I only used once. Horrible stuff. I used it just one day and that will never happen again. I had been to the dr, taken antibiotics, taken meds for yeast which irritated everything so like an id**t I thought the Monistate would cure the burn.. I was on fire. The Alka Selzer came from a Naturalists post with many, many, great results. It worked for me.

SO GLAD I'M NOT ALONE, LADIES PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRODUCT.
Ive never had a yeast infection before, but a few days ago I got a mild one just before my period. I decided to try monistat 1.
WORST decision ever!. 30 mins after I put it in I wanted to die, and it only got worse. I literally had to leave work early from the pain.
I went home and sat in a warm salt bath...and rinsed with a vinegar and water solution. Its been 2 days and has gotten better, but has left bruises that were not there a few days ago. Unfortunately my period is here so I have to wait a few days before I can go to the doctor.
In the mean time I've been using natural yogurt and it has helped a lot. I'm gonna try Benadryl (hopefully that works)

I totally agree. Allergic reaction to the CVS brand version of "Monistat" (Miconazole) external cream + ovule inserts
Labial swelling, tenderness, worse itching.
Went to Gynecologist and he said: (1) allergic reaction- use benedryl while symptoms persist, and, (2) prescribed Diflucan 2 doses over 3 days
"Rephresh" gel might help to balance the pH in the vagina after the yeast messed it up.

Similar situation for me. I tried Monistat 3 (generic version) for one day, then switched to Monistat 7 (brand name version), but it still burned too muched. I have used clotrimazole cream with no problem to treat yeast infections in the past, but I guess the Monistat ingredient is stronger or I am allergic to it.
Ultimately, I got Diflucan (fluconazole) from my doctor to clear up the yeast infection. The pain stopped about 4 days after using Monistat, but I am still a little swollen after 9 days.

So my question is how long till the blisters heal? I also used monistat 1 and immediately had swelling and burning and blisters. Turns out it was BV and not a yeast infection. The pain was the worst pain in my life. Things are better now but my blisters have not all healed. I'm on week 3!!!!! They are much better but I would like to know what everyone did for treatment and how long did it take to fully heal?

Same problem, I had all the yeast infection symptoms, tried calling in for medication but i had to be seen since my doctor was on vacation. Did the monistat 1, I felt fine until i woke up the next morning. I was swollen, it was painful to walk and sit. I went to another doctor, she said everything inside and out was swollen and irritated. She gave me a steroid shot, more steroid pills for the next day for the swelling. Naproxen, and Norco for the pain. Feeling better after the shot and the naproxen. I had never had this reaction before to the monistat, but I will NEVER use it again.

THIS IS AN AWFUL PRODUCT!
I am having the same issues as 99% of other women who have been taking this so I guess this means an allergic reaction. Severe swelling, burning, itching, tenderness, reddness, and all around uncomfortableness. I feel uncomfortable even laying in my bed. It's awful. Never again. Counting down the hours until I can call my doctor.
