My issue with Monistat 1 was from 5 years ago. It was my first yeast infection and I wanted it gone asap. I picked up the ovule 1 day pack and the day after inserting it ended up being pretty scary. I started to break out in hives on my chin and the inside of my mouth, my lips swelled up, and my eyes got very red. I can't remember if I had the swelling on my lady parts because of everything happening with my face. I, of course, went to urgent care immediately got everything taken care of. I thankfully don't get yeast infections often but every time after that my doctor has prescribed me the oral medicine, Diflucan, which I have never had any issues with. I am now 27 weeks pregnant and feel like I have had a yeast infection on and off for a few years and was reading that Diflucan is not safe to take during pregnancy, but the over the counter types are. I'm scared to even try the over counter stuff because of my allergic reaction, but I'm thinking that the one day dose is just too strong for most people.

I had a reaction to the one day kind years ago with severe swelling, the doctor told me to always use the seven day kind after that. There is two different types of seven day kind, try the one that is not using the same medication as Monistat.

I am having an allergic reaction to the monistat 1 at this time also. I’m so happy I’m not alone. I woke up this morning and my clitoris is so swollen. I knew I should had gotten the 7 day treatment or 3 days. I used it before and no reaction. I’m going to have to make an doctors appointment this is not cool and irritating.

I used the seven day, and had all these horrid issues after 4 days. There is an allergen preservative in this product, That we must be allergic to. (I had the same reaction to Neosporian and ended up in the hospital with an iv. ) I was in too much pain to go to ER with this. Bought benedryl and Destin cream. Hope swelling goes down soon.

I know what you mean. I had phneumonia and they gave me antibiotics. Well I ended up with an infection. I used monsistat and literally a couple hours in (no burning or anything) I woke up from a nap and my vagina was swollen to twice it's normal size . Hurt so bad I thought it was gonna Burst swollen. I iced it and eventually go into my Dr. Apparently this means I am severally allergic to monsistat.

Same here. Monistat one caused my labia to swell up into the size of golf balls. I literally had balls, I had to walk bow legged all day.

You can try taking an over-the-counter pain reliever, such as ibuprofen, to help alleviate any discomfort or pain. You can also apply a cold compress to the affected area to help reduce swelling and inflammation.

When you speak with a healthcare provider, they may recommend a different type of antifungal medication to treat your condition, or they may suggest an alternative treatment. It's important to inform your healthcare provider about your previous reaction to Monistat 1, so that they can make an informed decision about your treatment.

If you experience any difficulty breathing, hives, or other severe symptoms, seek medical attention immediately as this could be a sign of a severe allergic reaction.

When did this happen?

At 1 am, reading all of these posts made my heart lighter! The pamphlet sure didn't bring me any comfort or give me answers. I took Monistat 1 Friday night (after having a YI for 2 weeks). It's Sunday and I'm struggling with pain, a lot of swelling, and irritation. Holy smokes, that first night was unreal. Hair dryer on cool was the only thing that kept me from pulling my hair out! I wouldn't call it relief; just a step from insanity. I don't know how long this will last, but I will share what seems to be helping. Vitamin E gently patted on with a cotton ball, eating a large bowl of Greek yogurt everyday, NOT using the symptom cream that came in the package, taking additional Vitamin C, Chamomile & Lavender lye soap (high quality, locally made), drinking lots of water to stay flushed, loose clothing, and constantly changing my liner on cotton panties to keep things dry down there (and the leaking medicine OFF my skin as it comes out). I guess my only question now is when the heck are all the wounded ladies going to get together and jointly sue these rotten companies for hurting our bodies? I had never heard or been told of these intense dangers from using these packs. Soooo much worse than the YI. I would certainly have tried home remedies for a month compared to this unbearable pain and embarrassment. And these poor women on here having to go through the humiliation and psyche screw of being told they have HERPES, when it's a billion dollar company's end result of a false advertisement! And we all had to pay $25 - $30 for this toxic kit, and then even more for medical visits, and medication! Oh my gosh - what is up?! I'm sorry, but if this were happening to men, the FDA would have shut it down long ago, and a lawsuit would be in the works. Fellow women, thank you for sharing your painful, and embarrassing stories. We are no longer on islands :)
