is major swelling allergic reaction to monistat 1 or what?

So I found this post after I had the same problem. I get yeast infections fairly often, I know how they go. I've always used Monistat. And it has always worked for me. I wanted to address the poeple complaining of pain, extreme itching, etc., that's actually normal. The first two days after I use Monistat its really uncomfortable. Usually it feels like I'm literally sitting on a stack of needles. Then the pain leaves and I'm fine. I usually use the 7 day Monistat. Ive used the 1 day before, except it came with the little pill looking insert. Anyways, yesterday I went and bought the Monistat 1 that was the cream. Immediately after using it I started swelling up. It was till I was painfully swollen that I came on the message board to find out what the heck was up. I went and took a shower and tried to get as much as I could out. Then I used to tampon thing another lady had mentioned and that helped. Then I waited a few hours and took another shower to once again try to get it all out of me. I then went to bed after taking some benadryl. I also used a frozen water bottle and just held it down there and that helps with the pain alotttt. After an uncomfortable night I woke up and nothing had changed. I would say the pain was sooo much better though. I then took another benadryl pill and chugged alottt of water. Then I took another shower, washed, and did the tampon thing once more. Then I put a lot of moisturizer down there because the swelling had caused alot of dryness. The swelling is now wayyyyyy down. I'm almost back to normal! So my advice is to be patient, don't itch or anything, be very gentle, and try to clean yourself out. If you have vomiting, rashes, diarrhea, you're allergic. They put that clearly on the package, go see a doctor. But if you have used Monistat products before, you should probably just take it slow and let your body forgive you for using this insane product.

THE WORST ITCHING, BURNING, AND SWELLING OF MY LIFE. I thought that I may have a yeast infection so I decided to go and pick this product up off of the shelf because I had to work a 14 hour shift and did not want to be uncomfortable. I had no idea that it would make things worse! I have been walking like a guy all day because I cant keep my legs together due to the swelling. I am afraid to wipe with toilet tissue so I have been using baby wipes all day! It is crazy... I cant get to the doctor until Friday! So, I do not know what to do. Please, do not ever buy this product. It is not worth the pain and suffering.

Oh my goodness. Words can't explain how I am feeling right now. I used Mobistat1 on Sunday. The same night while in bed I felt a little weird but didn't check until morning to notice that one lip(labia) was extremely swollen and tender. Ugh thus is the worst. I just came from concentrate urgent care they gave me Motrin but basically told me I have to wait until the medicine leaves my body. I'm going to buy a douche and instead of the douche liquid I'm going to fill it with water and try and get this medicine out of me. It's funny reading this and seeing that all woman think a like I also wet a tampon and stuck it in and pulled it right back out. Nevertheless after ready everyone's stories I have hope that things will get better I will take my Motrin lol Benadryl ice pack and just cross my fingers til morning

So I've only read two pages of this thread, so please forgive me if this has been discussed/answered already... HOW LONG UNTIL THE SEVERE BURNING GOES AWAY??? When will I be able to wipe my vagina after peeing or put on a pair of pants without wincing and choking back tears?

I took the one day dose of Monistat on Sunday night. It is now Wednesday afternoon & I have no relief. I saw an OBGYN yesterday (Tuesday). When I told the doctor I used Monistat he immediately said, "I bet it burns 100 times worse now, huh?" If that is the reaction a medical professional has and if so many of us have had the exact same severely painful problems, why the heck are they allowed to sell this stuff???

Taking monistat has been one of the biggest mistakes of my life (I realize this is a very dramatic statement, but I stand by it 100%).

Oh my lord... I'm in agony. Used the one day capsule on Sunday. It's Wednesday and I'm in the worst pain. Please tell me how long it took for this to go away!! I can't believe how awful this is!

I had the same problem this medicine caused immediate pain, burn, swelling and the worst rash, blistering (ulcer looking which like all mentioned in this post made doctors suspicious it could be herpes) the pain to urinate was the worst I ever experienced in my life and I don't hope anyone has to go thru this experience ever! Its been a week and improvement is slow but feeling much better. This has caused me 3 ER visits! One dr saying its heroes and 2 others saying its just a reaction! Beside the pain from using this even product when a dr becomes unsure if it's herpes it makes more psychological damage!

First off lets just say how HORRIBLY TERRIFIED I am after using this product. It's the worst thing on this planet by far. I had a yeast infection for sure (because you can recognize from being pregnant) and I decided to use Monistat one because my boyfriend is a sexy beast and I didn't want to delay our groove thang. So me not reading any reviews I do it and rub the cream and at first it was burning and itchy. THEN. OH LET ME TELL YOU I can't even sit, lay down, stand without these freaking BURNS YES BUUUUURNS, rubbing together. It look like herpes. Like someone freakin burned me with a cig several times. Like a devil fairy tap danced on my vag ! I cannot peeeeee without spreading my lips super far apart so that the pee wont touch these raw burn marks. I feel like I'm being tortured. I will NEVER buy anything that says Monistat on it ever again. It's been like a week! I feel so disgusting! I wanna cry.

Same thing is happening to me. It even caused me a UTI !! Also, bumps, bleeding, & skin peeling below the opening of my vagina. I have heard so many complaints. Which I would have read them before using the product. Wouldn't be going through this right now !
