Hi everyone, I am currently 14 years old and turning 15 soon. I have never gotten my period before but was told that this was partly because of genetics and also relates to my athleticism. Recently, I discovered what could only be referred to as brown discharge in my underwear... at first I was very confused at what the heck this could be as it looked like I had just pooped my pants. However, after analyzing it and it's position in my under garments, I realized that it was certainly not poop and was rather coming from my vagina. I don't really understand what this means... it has continued consistently over the course of two days more than once daily. I have put a pad I had just in case in my underwear to prevent any more from getting ruined as I suspect it will continue. Would this be considered my period? Is this normal? My friends and relatives have certainly never had a similar experience and I don't know what to tell my mom... I would greatly appreciate any help! Thanks so much

Brown vaginal discharge is pretty common and can happen before a couple of days before your period starts or as in your case during puberty as your body is getting prepared for you to being having periods.
It is the bodies way of keeping your reproductive system and vagina clean. Nothing to worry about.
