I have been taking lortab 10s for oh lord I can't even tell u how long. I am 31 and I broke my back when I was 9. Back then it was morphine then as I got older lortab vicodin and percacet were my drug of choice. Even though I have immense pain daily I got used to the energy they gave me. I'm on day three of going ct and all I can think about is wanting to take pills. I was taking 15-20 pills a day easy. I hope I make it...

I cant believe how many of us there are... Ive been on 7.5 mg. lortabs for 4 months now, after a sacral joint fusion surgery. I take about 8 of them per day, and thought I could just come off them. Wrong. I had the worst nightmares last night & at one point, thought someone was in the room with me. I felt like I was being watched all night. I woke up to severe aches and pains, like i had the flu. I was freezing, sweating and itching like crazy. I forced myself to take one, just to get rid of the pain. Im afraid I wont be able to stop altogether. My dr. Says he can prescribe something thats non-narcotic, and will help with the withdrawals. I never planned for this. I feel your pain. I suffer with you all.

Day 3. Well, i have to say, day 3 feels amazing. I only hurt where im supposed to, and it feels awesome! The "flu" is gone & i know that today, my body wont feel like the alien in "the thing" movie, trying to burst open & grab the bottle of pills... Im well on my way to being free from those chains the lortab had on me. It gets better, keep going!!!

Day 4, back to work. Headache all day, 2 hrs. Sleep last nite. Im soaking in a hot bath, tired as hell, but it feels good. No thoughts about taking lortab. I just need a real nights' sleep & a good supper... Maybe tomorrow no headache? 15 hrs. Of work seems to do the body good! Keep going! Don't look back!!!

hello folks, came by this surfing the net. I have been taking lortabs for about 7 years off and on. I am over 60 and my body is worn out from a life of hard labor. I never abused them but they don't seem to work on my joint trouble anymore. The absolute best way to come off opiod addiction is to get yourself some decent pot and either injest it or smoke it. Take just 1 tab in the morning and go as long as you can. Then hit the bong and the cravings will subside as you come off the tabs.  Pot is not physically addictive although some people have mental addictive personalities.  About 3 days of pot and you can quit the tab in the morning and come down easy. Belive me it works. Also the weed is much better for pain anyway.

Thank you very much for stating that you have restless legs. This is the only post that I have found that anyone really mentioned it. I have been taking 10.5 LT's for years because I have arthritis in my lower back. But I will find myself freaking out when I get low. Then I will go and try to find them on the street and have a horrible time finding them and if I do they are $5-7 a piece. But at the same time, if i don't have them the pain becomes horrible again to the point of not being able to walk. It is horrible to have this addiction because you know when your out and cannot find any you know what you are in for when it comes to the wd's. I have every withdrawl system except for the feeling of burning of the skin. I have learned how to control "diarrhea" and that was one of my main complaints but the biggest is not being able to sleep and having restless leg and arms. I feel like I am going to jump out of my skin if I don't move my limbs every minute. Drives me crazy literally. Does anyone else have this as severe as I do and if so, do you have any suggestions on how to control it?

JGR, Just read your post and prayed for you, right here at my computer. I honestly and sincerely understand
what you are saying and unfortunately myself, know this cycle you are in. I will continue to pray for You and Your Family and that the Lord will give you much strength and help in all you are going through. I know it is incredibly scary but I sense
you are strong and can face this most difficult task. Just know someone will be with you and I will keep praying for you
through this.
Most Sincerely and the Best to You,
CA

My husband and myself have started the weaning process today and I have to say that even this has not been easy, but we are determined to kick it to two a day, then cut down to one until we run out of what we have (10 each) and then it ia cold turkey. We both got started because I had a broken ankle about two years ago when I was pregnant. Of course then, I took as directed for about a week (maybe two) and then stopped when I didnt need them for pain. After our son was born we were exhausted as new parents often are and he had some issues with carpel tunnel, so he got a script. I remembered how they lifted my energy and made me feel less tired so we startrd popping a few on the weekends to give us some energy from being up half the night with our son. It is a poor excuse, but we really didnt see the harm in it at the time. Well, just the weekends turned into the weekends and Mondays and within six months we were both taking 7-9 lortab 10 per day. We both make good money, but we are constantly broke because we didnt have a large enough script to support our habit and have bought at street prices from friends. It started out innocent (it always does) and now it has ruled our lives for almosy two years. If we don't stop now we are going to lose our home and everything we have worked so hard for and eventually we will lose our precious son. We are highly functional as most are and no one would ever guess we have this dark secret. He is high up in his company and I am also in the business world. It just goes to show that this drug does not discriminate! Over the past two weeks we have weaned down to 3-4 a day and today for my first day on two (he still took 3), but the bottom line is that when these are gone the cold turkey starts. I am just hoping that we will have weaned low enough to lessen the withdrawals and avoid having to miss work. We don't have that luxury and I am thankful we have not yet lost our jobs over this demon as so many do. Right now just with weaning down to two, I am lethargic and have restless legs. I fear that when we quit all together it is going to be a rough road, but I am so ready to be free! I don't want to spend my days making sure we have "enough" anymore and allowing this to rule our lives and eventually lose everything that is important to us. Our family does not know. It is just he and I in this battle together. Prayers and good thoughts to everyone going through this right now! You can do this and win your life and independence back and you will be so thankful when it is all over! I am so glad that I found this website. Reading everyones stories has kept me strong today and kept me from getting off schedule. I realize that I havent yet started my cold turkey process but we all know that when you are an addict, that 12th hour without the drug is tough. I took my first at 6am and waited until 8pm for my second. Any words of wisdom for us over the next few weeks or encouragement is welcomed! Thanks again for sharing to you all.

jillian1981 My boyfriend has been addicted to loratabs for several years. He has tried detoxing several times, but can't make it through the withdrawals. I saw on another website about the Thomas Recipe, it seems like it would be a good way of detoxing at home. Has anyone tried this? We are desperate for an answer to his addiction.
