Im 18 i lost my virginity 2weeks ago, we didnt use contraception he's too big and our condoms didn't fit, he pulled out before he came, but theres always precome, and a few days after i was getting thick white discharge, i didn't understand so went to the clinic, it was actually after 72hour boundary and when we did it i was on day 9 of cycle, so she thought id be fine but gave me the levonelle onestep morning after pill. Lately i was getting funny discharge, i thought it was thrush, took the tablet used the cream, that was fine, then yesterday i started spotting, i took the levonelle pill this time last week, and then today it got quite heavy, its so unlike what its like when i'm on my period that its confusing me. Me an my boyfriend can't decide whether it really is just a common side effect, or if i've come on my period a week and a half early, plus if i came on then i can start on the pill. So confusing and slightly worrying, as i don't like it and i don't want it to continue :-( any comments?

I don’t see the point in giving you the morning after pill when it was obviously late for it and chances of pregnancy weren’t even that big. Levonelle onestep like every other morning after pill can cause all of what you are going through, from period unrelated bleeding after taking the pill to almost every imaginable effect on your period which in most cases comes early, but it also can be late. The flow will get lighter or it will become heavier and there can be spotting between periods. Morning after pill contains strong dose of hormones and they are responsible for these effects. It can take a month or two for things to become more or less regular again.

It’s hard to say exactly what will happen because every woman is different and has a different period. There are good chances that it won’t happen again but it will all depend on how your body will react to the pill. It’s still normal if it happens again, but I think it will be ok after you get used to the pill.
