Hello,
I started taking Lovastatin 2 months ago, after my doctor recommended it due to my slightly higher cholesterol values and my age (I’m 62). Ever since I started taking this medication I feel so tired and have no desire to do anything but sleep. The problem is, when I wake up in the morning, I can hardly walk from the muscle aches in my feet, and my neck and arms feel stiff.
I know that muscle issues are common for statin medication, but my doctor still wants me on Lovastatin - he only lowered the dose but the side effects are still here.

Hi,
what you wrote is almost identical to what I'm going through on Mevacor, only difference is that I'm on it for only 2 weeks. I'm 42 and I thought I was overall healthy and since I'm fairly active and try to eat healthy I was very surprised when my cholesterol levels turned out to be too high.
My physician immediately gave me a prescription for Mevacor and that's when the constant tiredness and aches began. I feel like I have the worst flu ever combined with muscle soreness like I ran a marathon. I don't think I'll be able to continue taking this med, there must be some better way to deal with bad cholesterol.
