After I had my son I got the Mirena put in and I love it! However, my finace and I broke up so now my doctor wants to take out my Mirena because I'm no longer in a monogamous relationship and wants to put the Nuva Ring in me. With Mirena I haven't suffered any side effects... I've lost weight and I haven't worried about pregnancy. However, I don't know the side effects of the Nuva Ring and I was wondering if someone could tell me what they've experienced. Difficulties conceiving after the Nuva Ring? Weight gain? Any and all feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Ummmmm that doesn't seem like a good idea.  Honestly, you have no ill side effects from the mirena so why take your chances with another type of birth control when the one you have in is fine.  Plus you have to buy the nuva ring each month and the mirena is good for 5 years saving you time and money.  Just because you and your fiance are not together anymore doesn't mean that you are going to go out and open your legs for anyman who has a penis.  If anything he should want you to have it in because Mirena is much more effective than nuva ring and is more likely to keep you from getting pregnant by someone who you are just in a relationship with and not looking to take it any farther than that at this time.  Oh yeah, i was also able to get pregnant while on the nuva ring so you shouldn't have any problems with it should you decide to go with it and later decide you want another baby.
