My boyfriend and I recently just started having sex. I started using birth control pills the day after we did for the first time. The doctor that gave me the pills (orthocyclen) said I would more than likely start my period the week of the placebos pills. My period actually started the week before the placebos pills. I am a little concerned. I talked to my mother about it and she said it is normal for your period to be mixed up when you first get on birth control pills. I still feel like I need someone elses advice about this to make me feel better. My period usually last 6-8 days, I am on my 9th day and it shows no signs of leaving- usually it will get very light when it's going to be ending, and so far it's just been like a regular period, just longer. Someone please give me some information on this. I have tried researching and can't find anything. How do I make my period stop? I'm sick of having it- lol.

well im sure u know tht periods are usually irregular until ur early to mid-20's, so i wouldnt freak out about a long period. sometimes my period last 3 weeks, sometimes just 6 days. i heard tht advil can sometimes slow down menstrual flow, but dont pop pills! thtd be overdose!!!!! also, i heard birth control is supposed to stop periods....hmmm. id ask a doctor, but dont freak out because a longer period is nothing new.
