im going into get tested for clamydia in a few days i hope i dont have it but if i do. it can be treated and cured i have read in 2weeks or so with medicine. my ? is once cured do you still have to take medicine to prevent re infection? and after you are cured do you still need to have un protected sex? i would just be with my long term girlfriend who i know is free of STDs, i would be devastated if i infected her, but once i am cured can i still pass it on to her?

It is curable and once it is gone you no longer have to take medication. There is no medication to prevent reinfection so the best thing to do would be to use a condom. You can have unprotected sex but remember that it on increases you chances of reinfection. And once you are cured you cannot pass it to her.
