What is the correct way to stop taking Cymbalta. I've been on it for over a year and it just doesn't seem to be helping me. I've tried many other medications over the past 9 years, but nothing has seem to help. I'm tired of the effect of everyone of then and have no use to take them anymore. I just want to feel normal and not drugged up all the time.

I'm now on day eight of trying to stop Cymbalta and have been having a lot of day side effects. I started by skipping a day. Then taking it. Then adding a day in between each does. I hope someone understands what I'm saying. I took my last dose yesterday and now won't take it again until Wednesday. I'm just tired of feeling so bad. I've been dizzy, having hot flashes and have been very moody. Is this normal? Is this the right way to go about stopping Cymbalta?

I think it would be dangerous for anyone here on the board to give you advice on how to quit your medication. I think that it's admirable that you want to quit using a medication, but it's a good idea to talk to your doctor on how to quit. As you have mentioned that you are suffering from pretty serious symptoms, I think that it's best that you speak to him/her on how to best quit because some people quitting antidepressants don't take it well, and some people have even ended up committing suicide. Please be careful doing this and get professional advice. And keep us posted.
